Show Recordings

Welcome to "Show Recordings," a humble collection reflecting my experiences as a live sound engineer. Within these pages, you'll discover a handful of multitrack captures that have undergone subtle mixing in post, capturing the raw authenticity of live performances. As you explore the snapshots of my Front of House (FOH) output, you'll witness my sincere efforts to seamlessly blend technical precision with an artistic touch. This portfolio is a modest showcase of my commitment to enhancing live events through audio engineering.

One World 7pc Band Mix

For this mix, I was tasked with mixing live and recording a 7pc band (consisting of vocals, trumpet, sax, keyboard, guitar, bass, and drums) at a QL annual dinner. While doing the live mix, I also recorded multitrack, which I then mixed in post. These are a selection of some of the songs from that show. I had used the Yamaha QL5 for this event

ARTBOX Mix

The ARTBOX event held outdoors at the Sunway Pinnacle carpark was quite laidback, with mainly acoustic acts coming out to perform. Here, I show one LR capture of the event and one post-processed multitrack consisting of mainly vocals and acoustic guitar.
I used the Midas M32 for this event.

JazzUp9 Live Mix

I had the opportunity to mix a 6pc band for a Jazz night at this event. The band consisted of vocals, bass, piano, drums, sax, and trumpet. The band wanted to record multi-tracks for a selection of their songs, but the A&H AVANTIS that was stationed at the event didn't have the correct I/O card capabilities for recording, so I used a Soundcraft Expression 1 to capture and mix for the show while sending an AES/EBU stereo output to the AVANTIS.

Mercure Event Mixing

I mixed a 4pc band for a small private event using the Soundcraft Expression 1. I took a LR capture to my computer. Since it was a small space, I didn't need to do much but I still made sure they sounded good!
